Telefon Tel Aviv - Fahrenheit Fair Enough album

  • Throw her heart
"John Thomas On The Inside Is Nothing But Foam" is writen "John Thomas On The Inside Is Nothing Byt Foam" on mine's backside... did anyone have the same experience?
  • Qusserel
Telefon Tel Aviv's debut album, FAHRENHEIT FAIR ENOUGH, effortlessly straddled the worlds of IDM and post-rock, blissing out with the gorgeous title track that takes a melody and augments it with percussion that's frenetic but not overwhelming and some processed guitar that subtly blends in. The soft woodwinds and burbling rhythms of “TTV” soon fade into the watery strums of “Lotus Above Water.” But when the dreamy guitars of “John Thomas on the Inside is Nothing But Foam” come in, they send the listener on a gentle cruise along a starlit highway. The guitar also takes center stage on the spare “Life is All About Taking Things in and Putting Things Out,” while the minimalism takes a more abstract form at the start of “Your Face Reminds Me of When I Was Old” before softly coalescing around a melody. A more archaic sound sweeps onto “What’s the Use of Feet If You Haven’t Got Legs?” to contrast the more chaotic rhythm clattering beneath as it settles, momentarily, on a jazz bass. Finally, “Fahrenheit Far Away” closes the album on a simple, lo-fi piano melody. A sublime debut.

I recommend this issue. The Sound is fantastic. The remastering underlines the sonic quality. Fine dynamics, well balanced bass. Definitively one of my best sounding electro-records.

Got my copy from a UK seller here.. For some reason mine has a black mark on it.. And it has clicks but lucky for me that part is just "empty" sound.. Overall the pressing is good nice punch to the bass

Had this for months and just tonight got cd and was shocked how fast it was - I've been playing this at 33 all this time and though it was just really really laid back ! It works both ways then I guess !
  • RED
My copy sound bad. I've heard the Hefty original 2x12" which sound much better than this version, what gives?
  • Orll
I need to vent. This album is on a whole other planet at 33 RPM. I'm sorry, but it's better. There is so much detail missed at the actual intended speed- It's quite baffling to me. WARNING: If you listen at 33 RPM, you will be amazed to the point of almost being disappointed with the original track. SERIOUSLY.
  • Onaxan
Super surprised at how good this actually sounds. I am not a huge fan of colored wax, but Ghostly nailed it both sonically and visually.

Looking to buy this from a US Seller (for shipping sake.) Please reach out to me if you're willing to sell and ship from within the States.

Got my copy yesterday. The sleeve is an exact replica of the reissued vinyl sleeve, but with the Archive '99 tracks listed on the back as well. Contains folded Japanese liner notes insert. Very high quality release.

Just got my copy via Plancha. Very nicely packaged even with a rice paper sleeve...packaged like a gatefold vinyl. Highly recommended!!!

I was really enthralled to have gotten a copy of this sky blue version from bleep,a uk exclusive according to them which I believe as no-one else has it.it's still in stock at the time of posting too! Get in there people!!
  • Mr_Mix
"Not a U.K. exclusive. I have one, on got it directly from ghostly international here in the states. Oh bleep"Maybe they meant exclusive to Bleep here in the UK!
  • Painshade
Not a U.K. exclusive. I have one, on got it directly from ghostly international here in the states. Oh bleep.
  • Folsa
Sounds great at 33 or 45 rpm. Vinyl looks really cool. Includes MP3 downloads (album + eight previously unreleased tracks).
  • Cordann
I honestly like it more at 33. It add such a new depth to the tracks.
  • Qumenalu
is there a sky blue reissue that is 45rpm and one that is not? I'm confused by the two sky blue vinyl listings here
  • Gavinranadar
sky blue ghostly reissue [2016] sounds great. looks better than the ghostly mockups.
  • Sudert
Hope this helps. You can grab one here! *till now*http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/ARTPL-83https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B01M99EQSP/http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/artist_Telefon-Tel-Aviv_000000000181487/item_Fahrenheit-Fair-Enough_7380918

Oh, crap. That's right. The bonus tracks #10~17 that were only released as MP3s are included in the Japanese version CD. The 2 LP only contains up to track #9. What I meant was that the Japanese CD does not carry any new, additional bonus tracks that are different from the MP3 versions. Thanks for pointing that out, dumaisaudio! prefabtearstalk https://www.instagram.com/p/BNYWuY7gfLL/
  • Skrimpak
Are the bonus tracks included in the CD? If yes I'll get one immediately!
  • Jonariara
sky blue pre orders can still be found at fatbeats
  • Banal
Thanks for the heads up mate, just snagged one :)
  • Marilace
Repress coming out on Ghostly Intl this year...ya ya ya !!!
  • Tejora
Stick with the heavyweight 2004 double 45rpm vinyl of this, the single vinyl LP version doesn't sound nearly as good.
  • Ziena
Just a great album - never really bettered
  • Felolak
in short: just a great album! sometimes there is even TORTOISE in it.
  • Runehammer
I recently got a copy of this original pressing to compare to the remastered double vinyl pressing. While I would prefer to not have to flip the record over as much, the remastered double vinyl pressing does sound better. It has deeper bass to it and is a little louder overall. I promptly sold this version, as no need for both.*I should note that I was referring to the 2004 remaster on Hefty, not the 2016 remaster on Ghostly. The Ghostly version is on par with the Hefty one, not much difference aside from better packaging.

This HDCD is completely out of this world.Every single bloop, pop and twirl is heard with warm bass and a resounding "hell yeah!" from your speakers.Turn your subwoofer on, your lights off and turn this up. This is a record that is worth owning on HDCD.
  • RUL
This is one of the most intelligent and beautiful records to come out in years! It really can't be described as being in one style of music. Amazing use of dynamic rhythms and warm textures. Perfectly balanced use of electric and acoustic instuments. I never get sick of this record.
