Bone Thugs-N-Harmony - E. 1999 Eternal album

  • Vonalij
Luckily I have a graphic equalizer as part of my stereo system to adjust and tone down the excessive amount of base that drowns out the music and it's not a kinetic sharp base but a reverb base, so I can't even imagine playing this record on an average stereo it would sound completely horrible as it did when I first put the needle to the wax, if you do have a graphic equalizer as part of your stereo system and the ability to adjust the tones in order to listen to the album It's amazing to listen to!
  • Drelajurus
Sound on this is rubbish and both Discs Warped, Avoid (unless you want to buy my copy?)
  • Hugighma
This is a bootleg like the other 2014 entries. The image isn't even the same, it's got Flesh-n-Bone (far right) instead of Layzie Bone. Just a random superimposed photo.
  • Xlisiahal
I have this cassette with every matching number; however mine has the original Crossroad song, not the Dj U-Neek mix as stated above. Any one have a reason why, I'd like to know.Mine also states the copyright to be year 1995 and is not in conjunction with Relativity Records.
  • Dog_Uoll
See if this matches the cassette release that you have....https://www.discogs.com/Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony-E-1999-Eternal/release/10091666
  • Endieyab
Missing Da Introduction from the CD & Cassette versions as well. Still great to have in the collection but I typically bump the 2xLP bootleg version and keep the original as a collectible.
  • Aurizar
I do the same thing - I have the bootleg to spin, and the original strictly as a collectible. I do the same thing with reissues vs. originals.
  • Dianazius
This vinyl is obviously a CD master. It just sounds amazing because I'm comparing it to the original 95 vinyl pressing, which is absolutely awful. Side-A has some surface noise, but nothing serious. I needed to use a higher quality cartridge on these vinyls because the inner groove distortion is crazy bad on this pressing. All in all though, this bootleg surpasses the original pressing in sound quality. I doubt Ruthless records will ever re-press this album, so this is probably as good as it gets.
  • Mr_TrOlOlO
Agreed...a little surface noise, no biggie ....it does sound pretty good!
  • Broadraven
The sound quality of the US pressing is very bad indeed. It's a shame they messed up this great album. I sold my copy and got the European version which is way better. Both pressings miss the original version of "Crossroads" though. The remix they went for is pretty lame in my opinion. Don't know if they wanted to push 12" sales back then but it was such a bad decision.
  • Ustamya
Ah ok, that makes sense. Thank you for the info!
  • luisRED
If i remember correctly. The song, "Crossroads", that is on here and the other original presses is the original song. After Eazy E passed, they went back and remixed that song with DJ uneek and called it "Tha Crossroads". It came out almost a year after the album and was added to the reissues going forward.
  • Malodor
I just got this today. My disc 1 is a white/grey marble and disc 2 is a bright pink marbled color. It must also be mentioned that the pressing of sides A and D are severely off center causing my needle to sway back and forth about 1/2 inch while playing creating some audible disturbances. B and C are also slightly off center but not enough to make a noticeable difference.
  • Jelar
The sound quality is not so good on this press.
  • Agarus
It seems that maybe every copy is a bit different color, since my disc 2, is like, dark brown with some marble in it like in the pictures. And i have seen so many different combos of this... I dont really know, and they have not even told that how many copies were made.

It's a shame that this LP or any of the vinyl releases of the album really wasn't split into two records, it could've been much better sound quality and would've contained the entire track order. But because it was on a single record they had to squeeze as many songs as they could on both sides, resulting in low quality audio and the omitting of three tracks. This "clean version" is pretty much the same master as the retail clean version on CD and cassette, except with "Da Introduction", "Budsmokers Only" and "Me Killa" missing, so "Mo' Murda" and "Shotz to Tha Double Glock" were swapped for them in a way. It still contains some of the words left unedited on the retail edit, including the Coming to America sample at the end of "Mr. Bill Collector" that quite loudly exclaims, "Yo rent's due muthaf**ka!" followed by a gunshot.Regardless this "Phukkin Clean Version" is a collector's item for any long time Bone fan like myself. I recommend hunting down the CD pressing in all honesty if you truly want all 17 tracks in edited form, and it's more than likely much better quality than the vinyl.
  • Arakus
I don't know for sure, I bought the vinyl for $60 at a record store in Los Angeles around the same time as this review and it was a much cheaper price than what was being offered here on Discogs.
  • Golden Lama
Yes it is, with the exception of "1st of Tha Month" which is the radio edit with rerecorded lyrics. Except the clean promo CD is the only full-length version of the album that has every single track edited
  • mIni-Like
Also, how many CD's do you think are out there relative to the vinyl?
  • Kitaxe
Is the CD essentially just the clean version in terms of the backmasking of the swears?
  • SlingFire
I bought this album, I got a bad pressing, they sell this "new" if you search around, however I wouldn't recommend it based on a bad batch of these going around the internet.... if you find a good pressing let me know!
  • Deorro
What do you mean with bad pressing? Bad sound? Or something that you can see on the vinyl itself?
  • Beazerdred
All I have to say is I have the actual vinyl in the image we see and now has all 5 members autographs on it! I also have an art of war vinyl with they signed!! That is all! And yes the sound is not good. But it's not going to be played :)
  • Orevise
This one is not much better jforrest
  • Lailace
thanks for the info. I'm about dine with rap vinyl. constant crap quality.
  • Vetibert
Damn really wish I would have read this before buying one lol oh well I'm going to meet bone in March n ask if they will sign it so it'll be worth the $70 us I paid!!
  • Mightsinger
Can anyone vouch for the quality for this release? I use to have the original USA version, and it was pretty awful.
  • Elastic Skunk
Lil Mac says it passes the test....hook it up!
  • Maveri
Listened to 1 side so far and it sounds pretty good. If you love this LP go for it..
  • Pettalo
DO NOT BUY THIS VERSION!!!This version is absolute crap. They fit the whole album on one LP. It is cut so close it doesn't even auto return and the needle will glide all the way on to the label in the middle. Plus it is really soft and hard to hear. Do not buy this! Just get the CD if you care about quality at all. I am not the best at noticing small declines in quality, so if I notice it is some thing that is really bad. AVOID!!!
